About

vishnu logo colour

Vishnu was a document search engine featured several new visualisation front ends designed to assist navigation through search query results. It identified and selected keywords from the document set dynamically, using them to compute document clusters. These clusters could then be displayed and explored through three visualisation methods: Sammon cluster view, Dendro map, or Radial interactive visualisation.

The application, VISHNU, was accessible via a browser, though loading times varied depending on the user’s internet speed.

Radial View

Screenshot of a language mapping software interface showing a central node connected to various languages, with lists of protolanguages, and navigation controls on the side.

Dendro View

A computer screen displaying a phylogenetic tree diagram, metadata in lists, and a menu bar with various options.

Sammon View

A computer screen displaying a detailed map illustrating various types of data visualizations and their interconnections
