About
LHDL was a STREP Project under the European Commission’s 6th Framework Programme, running for 3 years from February 2006. Its main objective was to develop interactive digital library services for accessing collections of complex biomedical data related to the musculoskeletal system. Specifically, LHDL aimed to create the technical infrastructure for the Living Human Project (LHP), which sought to develop a silico model of the human musculoskeletal system from the cell to the whole body level. This model was designed to predict mechanical force exchanges within the body and to be adaptable for updates and extensions as new data and algorithms became available.
